Flying Panels Mark A New Phase in Construction: Progress is being made at your community hospital. Banner Boswell Medical Center’s Emergency Department and patient tower are taking shape. For a glimpse at the innovative ways the panels were flown into place watch now.

Panels are Flying!

  • Placement of the exterior “Banner Block Panels” is beginning and will occur at least through June.
  • This innovative construction method is highly efficient.
  • An onsite “staging” area (block yard 50 feet away) for the panels is where they wait to be airlifted into place
  • Panels will be flying most likely between 6 a.m. and 12 noon week days.
  • Placement of each panel can take up to 1.5 hours.

With the continued spread of the novel coronavirus, this transformed facility is an even more important addition to our community’s health care resources and readiness. That’s why construction is full speed ahead. And why community support for this project is vital.

Through Sun Health Foundation’s Generosity for Generations Campaign, funding of the $34 million Emergency Department and Patient Care Transformation initiative will help open these doors wider at a time when emergency care and treatment are needed most. May 2020 – Building for your future as construction continues:  While COVID-19 has resulted in cancelling or delaying much of the Valley’s construction, there is exciting news to share. At Banner Boswell Medical Center, construction progress not only continues, it’s full speed ahead to transform the Emergency Department and build a six-story patient care tower.

This crisis has reaffirmed the critical need for this project now, more than ever. Completion is projected for early fall, in time for the medical center’s 50th anniversary.

Community support for Banner Boswell’s Emergency Department expansion through Sun Health Foundation’s Generosity for Generations Campaign will, in turn, support Banner Boswell’s commitment to staying continually prepared for critical health events.
